Eva Weaver                                    Performance Artist

 

Originally from Germany and now based in Brighton, UK,  Eva Weaver has been working in performance between 2000 and 2010.

Funny, dark and highly visual, her performances concern issues of cross-cultural identity and belonging, historical trauma and stereotyping. Her work has been shaped by her cultural heritage, experience as an Art Therapist, research into the Burlesque, Grotesque and Shamanic and by mentoring and training support from Helen Paris, Rose English, Silke Mansholt, Lois Weaver,

Stacy Makishi, Guillermo Gomez Pena and others.


Eva holds an MA in Art and Media Practice from Westminster University and an MA in Performance from Queen Mary University

She has shown solo-work at East End Collaborations, Tract, Arnolfini, Toynbee Studios, OMSK, The Basement, Brighton and other venues. She presented her performance ’The Bread of Those Years’ at the National Review of Live Art in Glasgow in February 08.


Eva Weaver has been supported in the past by Arts Council South East and Brighton and Hove Arts Commission as well as Basement Arts Production South East .(www.thebasement.uk.com)
